Cardno has been engaged to provide a facility management team to manage the Solomon Islands Resource Facility (SIRF) operations to ensure effective service delivery.
  
This role works within the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD). Education forms part of Australia and New Zealand’s long-term bilateral development assistance. Australia and New Zealand supports basic education in Solomon Islands through a sector-wide approach together with MEHRD. The programme provides targeted sector budget support for implementation of the National Education Action Plan (NEAP) with a focus on literacy and numeracy. Key activities include teacher training, curriculum development and infrastructure.
  
The role:

You will build on support already provided to continue developing the sector leadership, governance, management and coordination capacity of MEHRD to improve overall management quality and delivery of the NEAP results. The advisor will work closely with the MEHRD senior management team, MEHRD directors and heads of department, and the strategic support unit.

Location and travel requirements:

The position will be based in Honiara, Solomon Islands with regular provincial travel required.
