The Graeme Dingle Foundation is a leader in youth development in Aotearoa. We provide tamariki and rangatahi with the opportunity to build self-confidence and learn valuable life skills through our school-based programmes.
Graeme Dingle Foundation, in conjunction with Wakatipu High School, are currently looking for a programme coordinator to deliver the Stars programme in the school. This important and rewarding role will involve you supporting and developing senior students (peer mentors) with their leadership skills, as they mentor and support new entrant Y9 students with their transition to high school.
The ideal candidate will be an effective facilitator with excellent team leadership and relationship management skills, have well developed communication skills and experience working with young people. Some flexibility in working hours is required.
We’re looking for someone with the following:
Qualifications and experience
Previous experience, knowledge and/or qualification in youth development (e.g. social work, sports or education)
Experience and confidence in presenting to groups
Experience facilitating events and working with schools is desirable.
Skills and attributes required
Motivated to work alongside and develop young people
Excellent team leadership and relationship management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Highly organised with strong time management skills
A 'can-do' attitude, enthusiastic and energetic
Good understanding of diversity and cultural differences.
