We are seeking a talented educator to lead our high-achieving and well-resourced humanities department, including the role of HOD middle school humanities. This permanent appointment will commence at the beginning of term 1, January 2020. Management units by negotiation.
This role will have oversight of the humanities learning area which encompasse: art history, classical studies, geography, environmental systems, and history in the senior school and humanities in the middle school. Each of these subject areas has their own curriculum leader. The role of HOD middle school humanities is responsible for the curriculum leadership of humanities across Y7–10.
We are a world-class independent school with a strong Presbyterian heritage. Based in the eastern suburbs of Wellington, we consist of a Y1–6 preparatory school for boys, a Y7–10 middle school for boys, and a coed (from 2020) senior school for Y11–13. We offer a dual pathway for our senior students offering both NCEA and the IB Diploma. The college is fully authorised for the delivery of the Diploma Programme and the Middle Years Programme. Experience teaching these programmes would be advantageous, however training will be provided if required.
