We are a leading independent school situated in Hamilton with a commitment to providing education of the highest quality for its students. With a roll of 750 students, of whom almost half are boarders, the school also operates an outdoor experience for its Y10 students for 6 months at its Tihoi Venture Campus on the western side of Lake Taupo.
Due to the retirement of our current HOD and with our leader of curriculum taking on a senior role within NZQA, we seek an inspirational, dedicated and innovative teacher who will share in the school’s drive for student success to join our social sciences faculty and lead our history curriculum. Reporting to the leader of curriculum, social science, the successful applicant will need to be able to comfortably teach junior social studies and senior history to Scholarship level.
All of our students use either Chromebooks or laptops as an integral part of their learning so a high level of ICT skills is required by applicants. As with all teaching positions at our school, the successful candidate will also be required to contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme, by being involved in both a winter and summer sport or activity.
A competitive remuneration package is on offer, including teacher salary scale + 1MU minimum + St Paul’s Allowance (currently $3,750 per annum). Class sizes are relatively small, and our students are motivated and self-disciplined. Staff enjoy the added benefits of working in park-like grounds and are provided with cooked lunches during term.
