Pūtauaki ki Rangitaiki Kāhui Ako seeks 4 full-time permanent learning support coordinators.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new initiative in a committed Kāhui Ako with a desire to ensure equitable outcomes for all our children regardless of their needs. The role of the learning support coordinator is to ensure young people with additional learning needs have access to the services they need. The LSC role is intended to be a full-time, dedicated role. The successful applicants will need to be able to work with and influence the school / kura leadership team. These roles will have you working across the Kāhui Ako, but working predominantly with 2–3 schools.
The successful applicants will have:
Demonstrated successful experience in working with and including children and young people with learning support needs in the classroom
An understanding of te ao Māori and a desire to improve outcomes for Māori learners in low socioeconomic settings (at least one position requires fluency with te reo Māori)
A current teaching practising certificate, relevant teaching qualification and have met professional standards relevant to their current position.

Be open to new learning as well as assist with the development and implementation of new learning needs initiatives across the Kāhui Ako
Work collaboratively across the cluster of schools as well as being assigned to a group of schools
Work in a highly culturally responsive environment and build meaningful relationships and work closely with staff, whānau and external agencies to gain the best outcomes for our young people.
