Sadly, our current principal has resigned due to heading overseas, therefore our BOT is seeking a dynamic leader to continue our school’s success, growth and move it forward into the future with continued improvement, focus on team culture, and making a positive difference to the success and learning of our children. This position is a full-time principal position with occasional teaching requirements.

Our school is in a small rural town that is situated between both east and west coastlines.

We are excited at the opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative, caring leader with great people, technology and teaching skills who is passionate about children and their learning.

The applicant will be required to give a short presentation on how they can implement our school charter to continue the progress of the school.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be an excellent communicator, committed to creating and encouraging trusting relationships that build mutual respect
  • Be compassionate towards students, family/whānau, staff and the community
  • Ideally be active and visible within and outside of the school
  • Have a passion for what it is to lead a rural school
  • Be an empowering leader who can articulate an exciting vision for learning to all members of the school community and cultures
  • Have the ability to keep student achievement and wellbeing at the forefront of decision making
  • Have a strong knowledge of current pedagogy, curriculum and assessment
  • Be hard-working, well-organised, flexible and have effective time management skills
  • Be conversant with school strategy, finance, property and asset management.

If you are committed to working collaboratively, can build effective relationships, and if you think you can make a great contribution to the life of our school and community, we invite you to contact us for an application pack.

The position will commence at the start of term 1, 2020.
