This is a challenging position in a small state-integrated Muslim school. It requires a strong background in effective classroom teaching, curriculum leadership, and a strong focus on high academic achievement.
It is a condition of appointment that the person appointed be capable of assisting in planning, is future-focused, has the ability to think strategically, is passionate about leading curriculum and assessment and is able to organise courses and programmes to ensure the growth of every student while maintaining the special character of the school. You must be committed to working with Muslim students from many ethnic backgrounds.
The successful candidate will be an aspiring or proven leader, well-organised, flexible, a team player, collaborative and enthusiastic with the confidence and ability to build and maintain positive and credible relationships with students, staff and the wider school community. You will have strong pedagogical knowledge (there are approximately 10 hours of teaching per week). Please advise your areas of leadership strength and subject knowledge in your cover letter.
As a member of the senior leadership team, this role reports to and works closely with the principal so will need to be available for the time commitment that a senior management role entails.
