Taupō Kāhui Ako is seeking 10 full-time learning support coordinators to work collegially within our region.
The successful applicants will have:
An innovative growth mindset, able to listen and respond to learning needs across sectors and worksites and have an awareness of transition challenges. You will also collaborate closely with other learning support coordinators, teachers, and in-school learning support teams to lift levels of support for at-risk learners
Demonstrated successful experience in working with and including children and young people with learning support needs in the classroom
A sound knowledge, commitment to, and understanding of the learning support system and the learning support action plan priorities across our ECE, primary and secondary schools
Understanding of te ao Māori
A current teaching practising certificate and relevant teaching qualification
Met professional standards relevant to their current position
The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
LSCs will work to build the learning support capability of kaiako/teachers, and to help identify and plan for the learning support needs of all the children and young people in our Kāhui Ako. This is a coordinating role but requires the incumbent to be an experienced teacher in order to know how to engage with kaiako/teachers to support the development of their practice in working with children and young people with a range of learning support needs.
This role will have you working across the region but you will be employed by and based with 2 or 3 other learning support coordinators at selected schools in the Taupō Kāhui Ako.
