We have a fantastic permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced, qualified and certificated ECE teacher with strong organisational and leadership skills to grow and develop a network of home-based educators in the Lower Hutt region.

As a visiting teacher you will work with home-based educators providing professional induction, training, support and leadership to ensure high-quality care and learning outcomes for tamariki.

You will also be involved with promoting our services to families and whānau in your region and assisting with promotional activities and strategic business development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing professional leadership and development opportunities to a network of home-based educators to support the ongoing development of their practice
  • Inducting, coaching, mentoring, training and developing educators to ensure high-quality early learning is delivered to tamariki
  • Facilitating the enrolment of new educators
  • Assisting educators to assess and plan for children’s learning and provide positive learning environments, consistent with Te Whāriki – the early childhood curriculum
  • Actively and positively promoting us with educators, families, whānau and the community
  • Assisting with promotional activities and business development to grow the network.

Skills and experience:

You will be an outstanding, experienced teacher who is energised and excited about engaging with home-based educators and children.

To undertake this role you will have:

  • A recognised early childhood teaching qualification and a full Teaching Council practising certificate
  • Experience mentoring, coaching and leading adults
  • A sound understanding of early learning pedagogical practice
  • A good understanding of relevant legislation
  • Commitment and drive to make a difference and see tamariki thrive
  • Self-motivation and initiative
  • Sound planning, organising and communication skills
  • A current first aid certificate
  • Unrestricted NZ driver’s licence.
