Kidsfirst Kindergartens, the largest provider of early childhood education in the South Island.

We are looking for a highly motivated leader to join the professional leadership team.   

The role:        

You will work collaboratively within the professional leadership team, providing professional and strategic leadership to support high-quality teaching and learning for young children.

You will work directly with teaching teams, spending time in services to observe, give feedback and enhance pedagogical leadership and teaching practice across the curriculum. You will build and maintain strong professional relationships between your teams and the association to contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s strategic goals. 

To be successful, you will:

  • Have an understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga o Te Ao Māori and how this relates to Te Whāriki
  • Have a broad understanding of the cultural, social, economic and environmental context within which children and their whānau live
  • Have the ability to critically analyse and to respond creatively to the complexities of the sector
  • Have the ability to influence teaching practice to improve learning outcomes for children and whānau
  • Have the ability to inspire and lead others
  • Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills
  • Be able to demonstrate working collaboratively within a team and the ability to work autonomously, managing what is a complex role
  • Be a registered teacher and hold a tertiary (degree) qualification relevant to the role
  • Be available to travel around the wider Kidsfirst network as required.
