Te Iti Kahurangi Kāhui Ako, consisting of Onehunga High, Marcellin College, Royal Oak Intermediate, and 6 primary schools including Mangere Bridge, Waterlea, Onehunga, St Josephs, Te Papapa, Oranga and Royal Oak, seeks 4 primary school-based learning support coordinators. 

Te Iti Kahurangi is an innovative and forward-thinking Kāhui Ako with a strong drive for ensuring equitable outcomes for all our children regardless of their needs. We aim to achieve this through working collaboratively as a cohesive and committed learning community who is prepared to be creative and transformational to ensure best outcomes for our students and whānau.

Each position is a teaching position in accordance with the Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement.

Applicants will have the ability to:

  • Be open to new learning as well as assist with the development and implementation of new special needs initiatives across the Kāhui Ako 
  • Work collaboratively across the cluster of schools as well as being assigned to a group of schools
  • Be able to work in a highly culturally responsive environment and demonstrate strong interpersonal relationships with schools, different agencies, students and whānau
  • Be effective teachers who can inspire and engage our children and whānau from diverse backgrounds in authentic learning-focused partnerships
  • Be adaptive, proactive and committed to advocate for the needs of our students and whānau
  • Display strong time management and organisational skills including confident use of technology
  • Work strongly towards the vision of Te Iti Kahurangi upholding the values that underpin all the Kāhui Ako mahi (manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, kotahitanga, auahatanga)
  • Strengths in specific areas of special needs and/or children's successful transition from ECE to school is an advantage but not essential.
