We have a great opportunity for a teacher-in-training to join our team in Palmerston North. This is an exciting opportunity for a current 3rd year student studying towards an early childhood education qualification to work across our two centres in Palmerston North located in Hunter Street, Milson and Cuba Street, Palmerston North.

We offer great ratios, attractive rates of pay, generous staff benefits as well as contributing 50% towards your time on practicum as 'paid work' during your third year as a full-time employee.

We provide ongoing professional development, regular mentor meetings as well as non-contact to inspire and motivate you on your journey as an early childhood professional.

Your role involves:

  • Developing the curriculum and activities available, ensuring that we follow the interests of our children, embracing their natural curiosity and imagination
  • Working together as part of team to ensure appropriate delivery of nurturing/recreational activities
  • To look after our children’s wellbeing considering their social, recreational and individual needs, keeping appropriate records of evidence, observations and assessment
  • To promote positive relationships and interaction between all adults and children
  • To ensure parent/carers are well-informed of their children’s progress and are always welcome in the centre
  • To attend and participate in parent/staff meetings and other meetings as may be relevant.
