The Matariki Kahui Ako is seeking 3 learning support coordinators to work within our cluster of schools.

1 x LSP teacher will be supporting William Colenso College and Te Aute College.

1 x LSP teacher will be supporting Marewa School and Te Awa School.

 1 x LSP teacher will be supporting Maraenui Bilingual School, Richmond School and Hukarere College.

 These permanent full-time roles will:

  • Support students through building an inclusive school or kura and cluster environment which encourages participation, progress and successful transitions
  • Experience in teaching within a Māori medium would be an advantage for one of the positions and primary/intermediate experience for all positions would also be advantageous 
  • Support kaiako/teachers in schools and kura to build strong relationships and lift their capability to better meet the needs of learners, and to strengthen their connections with early learning services
  • Support parents and whānau to build better relationships of understanding around learning support and establishing points of contact if needed
  • Work alongside other LSCs across the cluster and connect with the learning support facilitator and wider agencies Oranga Tamariki, to access services and resources to support learners.
  • Work with school or kura leadership teams to influence and encourage them about ensuring the needs of all students receive the appropriate support to enhance their learning and progress.
