Kea Street Specialist School (0.2) and Kaitao Intermediate School (0.8) seek a learning support coordinator to work between our two schools.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced teacher who will work closely with our senior leaders to support our students with additional learning support needs in two very dynamic, different settings. The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively and supportively, adapting to meet the priority needs of our community and Te Maru o Ngongotaha Kahui Ako.
The willingness to be flexible, develop and adapt to best meet the needs of our learners with complex and multiple needs is essential.
Support students in an inclusive school or kura and cluster environment which encourages participation, progress and successful transitions
Support kaiako/teachers in schools and kura to lift their capability to better meet the needs of learners, and to strengthen their connections with early learning services and contributing schools
Support parents and whānau to build better relationships of understanding around learning support and establishing points of contact if needed
Work alongside other LSCs and build professional capacity
Connect with and acknowledge current SENCO and teacher specialists' expertise within the learning environment and setting
Build strong working relationships with learning support facilitators and wider agencies.
