We have a position (due to roll growth we are starting another Hapū) in this key leadership role of Hapū leader from the the start of 2020. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a team of 9 other leaders in similar positions within our school!
We provide a unique, challenging and enjoyable environment to teach in. We place significant emphasis on working and learning collaboratively and believe as a leadership team we offer our staff the opportunity to contribute actively to the direction of the school and importantly to realise their own potential as an educator.
A critical consideration for all applicants is the expectation that all teachers will be willing to teach in collaborative teams within an integrated approach at all levels of the school (Y7–10). Our staff understand how challenging this can be and we are all exceptionally supportive of encouraging successful applicants to adapt their practice. If you are an amazing teacher in your current environment, you will continue to be amazing at our school.
This role is like a hybrid of the roles of a year level dean and a team/curriculum leader in other more traditional settings. Key responsibilities include leading a team of teachers in their role as a learning advisor, ensuring the delivery of our learning advisory curriculum reflects our intended objectives within your Hapū (around 80–100 Y7–10 students and 4–5 teachers), and supporting the implementation of our behaviour management system within your Hapū. Our advisory curriculum includes 3 strands, social and emotional learning, whanaungatanga and learning to learn.
We are looking for applicants who have a passion for getting the best out of each and every student both personally and academically.
