We have a fantastic opportunity for a registered ECE or primary teacher to join our expanding school. We have been providing Geraldine and its surrounding areas with a genuine, authentic Montessori experience for 2 to 6-year-olds since 2014. Now we have successfully established our older, preschool age centre we have decided to expand our business to include a 20 space 0–3 years nursery, il nido (The Nest). As such, we are looking for a highly motivated individual, who is passionate about the Montessori Reggio/RIE methods of teaching, to join our already established team.

Our school offers a slower pace, allowing its staff members the time to observe and support children; providing an overwhelming sense of calm and engagement.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday with hours available ranging between 30–40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be able to work across the 2 age ranges.

Our la Casa (established school) is a warm and welcoming haven, a unique early childhood education centre in rural Geraldine, renowned for its calm atmosphere and beautifully, richly resourced learning environment. Our new Nido will also provide this high-quality, authentic Montessori care and education.

Our ideal teacher will be:

  • Driven and inspired regarding the development of their own practice
  • Passionate about the learning environment
  • Able to develop respectful, positive and meaningful relationships with others
  • Have a respectful, kind and caring deposition, with a positive outlook
  • Have a good knowledge or keen interest in the Montessori and Emilio Reggio philosophies.

In return we will offer you:

  • Full support with your registration
  • Generous non-contact time
  • A fun and exciting working environment and team.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
