Assistant head teacher / kaiako tuatahi.

Our assistant head teacher is moving to another leadership position within our association and so this leaves us with big shoes to fill!
Te Uru is one of 5 purpose-built centres that are part of the Otago University Childcare Association. Located within Te Pā on Castle Street, it is licensed for 40 children over 2 years of age.

The role involves working as a part of a team of 7 qualified ECE teachers. Te Uru has minimum ratios of 1 to 8 and teachers pride themselves on the high quality learning environment they provide (see the Te Pā ERO report).  All of our centres are in a diverse, predominantly university community. We are looking for a qualified and registered ECE teacher whose commitment to high-quality teaching is evident in their practice.

Being part of the Otago University Childcare Association means that the successful candidate will be well-supported in their professional growth by a wide team of experienced colleagues. The OUCA is part of the ECE Collective Agreement which provides excellent terms and conditions for teachers.

Previous leadership experience would be an advantage but new leaders are welcome to apply.
