Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

Learning languages

Listed 11:07 am 09 September 2019
Closes 4pm 23 September 2019
Vacancy reference #: 1H9y93

Our school, established in 1883, is a coeducational school with a roll of approximately 1,600 students.

Cambridge is in the heart of the Waikato region and has recently become a focus for elite sport with cycling, triathlon, kayaking and rowing having established their New Zealand bases here.

Our school serves the interests of the community incredibly well, meeting the academic, trades, cultural and sporting needs of a range of students. Places here are highly sought-after with families choosing to move into town to gain access to the school.

We have a vacancy for a teacher of Mandarin to join our languages department. Mandarin is a fast-growing language in Cambridge with a large quantity of students learning the language in our feeder schools. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to build upon this enthusiasm for the language and establish a senior programme of learning in order to provide students with a learning pathway in Mandarin.

The start date is 24 January 2020. However, if possible, we would be interested in beginning the employment during term 4.
