Registered superstars, apply here!

We are looking for a qualified/provisionally registered teacher to join our team. Due to flexibility in our existing team there is an opportunity here to work with our infants and/or toddlers.

We are a small, privately owned centre, located in an old villa in the heart of Merivale, Christchurch! Our nursery and preschool are licensed for a small number of children, with a maximum roll of 48 children. You’ll join our team of fun, caring, creative and passionate teachers with a experienced and hands-on owner who is ECE qualified.

Our philosophy is based around active movement, respect, fun, love of learning and relationships. We provide caring, responsive relationships and engaging activities that cater to the individual needs of children and their whānau.

You will need to be passionate, empathetic, caring and have a growth mindset. Ideally you have a good understanding of children’s individual learning needs, experience with assessment practices and the ability to connect well with parents/whānau and other teachers.

This position is for 25–35 hours per week (some flexibility for the right person) between 7am–6pm, Monday to Friday with generous administration time. Professional development opportunities available to strengthen ongoing professional growth and development.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Employee benefits include a fun place to work, competitive wage (depending on experience and qualifications), child discounts, uniform, access to online learning assessments, appraisal connector and a caring team who are confident in appraisal, teacher registration, internal evaluation and assessment practices who are happy to guide you and share their expertise. We have regular team meetings, coaching/mentoring and one-on-ones, as well as professional development opportunities to suit your learning priorities and those of your team and classroom.
