Our junior high (Y7–10) is a thriving new school (opened in 2016) of 1,250+ students in the northern suburbs of Hamilton. We have a full-time, permanent position (due to promotion) in this key leadership role from the start of 2020. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a team of two other leaders in similar positions within our school!
An expectation at our school is that all teachers and leaders are willing and excited about teaching in collaborative teams within an integrated curriculum approach at all levels of the school.
It is a role of assistant principal with key responsibilities including the development and delivery of our learning advisory programme and curriculum. This includes three strands: Whanaungatanga (building hāpu, iwi and school culture), social and emotional learning, and learning to learn. The leadership of an Iwi (group of around 400 students and 20 staff) is another critical responsibility within this role and includes mentoring and coaching staff in their role as learning advisors, providing student leadership responsibilities and pastoral care.
Applicants are encouraged to visit the school prior to applications being received.
