Ruahine Kindergarten Association (RKA) is a not-for-profit organisation with a child-centred approach. We have a very rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced head teacher to join our kindergarten teaching team. Come on board and support this community-based team in their high-energy environment with a 50 place licence.
We are seeking a passionate leader with heart-based practices and a strong Enviroschools ethos. As our kindergarten is on Parkland School grounds, the ideal applicant would ideally have sound knowledge of transition to school practices and have Parkland community at the centre of all they do. Parkland is also a ‘Kind Hearts’ kindergarten so an understanding of manaakitanga is a must.
Other ideal attributes include:
- A sound knowledge of Enviroschools and a passion for this to be continued and further developed at our kindergarten, including the importance of being kaitiaki of the animals in our environment
- Provision of a leadership model that supports all teachers to work together, lead in their strengths, and empower and inspire the team as a whole
- Commitment to bicultural practices, tikanga, te reo Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A fun disposition with a great sense of humour.
In return RKA will welcome you as a valued member of our extended whānau while offering generous ongoing professional support; quality continuous professional development that is second to none; 6 weeks plus 1 day annual leave; pay parity with primary teachers; and 12.5 hours of non-contact time per week!
Sound like your cup of tea?
