Located in the heart of Raglan township, we are a privately owned and operated childcare centre, catering for children aged 6 months to school age in 2 learning rooms, with a shared outdoor space.

We also offer a twice-weekly bush-kindy programme for our oldest tamariki, spending up to 12 hours per week engaged in nature-based learning.

One of our lovely kaiako is off to pursue further study opportunities, so we are looking for a heart centred teacher for our Maunga Teitei room (2½ years - school age) to replace her.

You will make up a team of 5 and work closely with Iti Kahurangi, our U2s room.

This position is full-time and we are seeking a fully qualified ECE teacher, who holds provisional or full teacher certification.

Third year ECE students will be considered for this position also.

Suitable candidates will be passionate about and committed to:

  • Providing a child-led play-based curriculum, in a fun and relaxed environment
  • Working as a whole centre
  • Implementing Te Whāriki and documenting children’s learning and development
  • Building respectful, genuine and enthusiastic relationships with children, whānau and colleagues
  • Connecting with nature and the outdoors, and being an active participant in our bush kindy programme.

Interpersonal skills are really important to us, so the right person will have the following attributes:

  • Be passionate about being part of your team
  • Open-minded to others and their ideas
  • Be an energetic and positive team player with a cracking sense of humour
  • Able to communicate easily with others
  • Have great listening skills.

You will be supported in your work by a great teaching team and enjoy benefits, such as childcare discounts, paid staff meetings, paid birthday leave, first aid and funded flu jabs as well as professional development opportunities to develop your teaching skills.

Pay will be negotiated individually with the successful candidate, and will depend on experience and training levels.
