We are a leading independent school situated in Hamilton that has a commitment to providing education of the highest quality for its students.  With a roll of 750 students – of whom almost half are boarders, the school also operates an outdoor experience for its Y10 students for 6 months at its Tihoi Venture Campus on the western side of Lake Taupo.

We are a well-resourced progressive school, with a well-rounded sporting culture and a drive for high-performance sporting success.

We seek a well organised, motivated person with a passion for secondary school sports to join our school in the role of head of sports.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure all sporting activities for our school are planned, managed and developed effectively. This includes managing the summer and winter sport options of all students, as well as planning and executing schoolwide events such as athletics day, swimming sports, cross country and inter-house sports. Reporting to the director of sport, the successful candidate will also provide assistance in the coordination of school tours and exchanges. 2MU + school allowance $3,750.

The successful candidate will liaise with coaches and managers of sports teams, follow up on any attendance issues of students not fulfilling their sporting commitments and take an active interest and attend sporting fixtures and games across the board.

Our ideal candidate will be a fully registered teacher who is strong administratively and has proven sports coordination  and leadership skills. They will need an excellent grasp and understanding of how secondary school sports work, be a good problem solver and bring fresh, creative ideas. As with all teaching positions at our school, the successful candidate will also be required to contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme.
