We are a leading independent school situated in Hamilton that has a commitment to providing education of the highest quality for its students. With a roll of 750 students – of whom almost half are boarders, the school also operates an outdoor experience for its Y10 students for 6 months at its Tihoi Venture Campus on the western side of Lake Taupo.

Due to an internal promotion, we seek a passionate, enthusiastic and innovative person to lead our physical education and health team. The successful applicant will need to be an experienced teacher in physical education and health with the ability to teach junior through to Scholarship level. Experience in wellbeing, positive education or emotional intelligence would also be advantageous.

Joining a well-established team of 10 PE teachers this role will continue to build and lead the positive culture within the department, as well as maintain the overall responsibility for the PE / health curriculum. All students have Chromebooks or BYOD so a high level of ICT skills is required of applicants, as is support for and involvement with the school’s extensive co-curricular programme which includes a commitment to both a summer and winter sport /activity.

We are a well-resourced progressive school, with a well-rounded sporting culture. We have modern PE facilities including a number of indoor gymnasium spaces, award-winning cricket pitches, several rugby fields, a heated swimming pool, squash courts, weights room, tennis courts, astro-hockey turf and more.

With relatively small class sizes and very motivated and self-disciplined students staff enjoy the added benefits of working in the park-like grounds and are provided with cooked lunches during term times. 3MU + 1MMA + school allowance $3,750.

This position will commence term 1, 2020.
