Our beautiful infant and toddler centre has been family-owned and operated for over 30 years, and is a well-established and respected service in Mt Eden. Amidst a quiet residential street our carefully re-purposed house caters specifically for the birth to 3 age group and has been designed to allow for space, flexibility of routines and plenty of ‘elbow-room’ for all children to engage and explore. Our vision is to create a relaxed home-away-from home for very young children where their day is unhurried and nurturing relationships form the basis of learning and growth.
We currently seek a new member to join our team and partner with us in the provision of high quality early learning experiences:
1. We welcome applications from candidates who are ECE teachers and demonstrate essential skills including professional knowledge about the learning and development of infants and toddlers, are able to meaningfully document children’s learning, have an understanding of Te Whāriki and its implementation and who are strong communicators, able to effectively work with a range of other individuals.
2. You will be a flexible team player, have strong communication skills, be able to use your initiative and be committed to your professional learning.
It is advantageous that applicants will have an understanding or familiarity with the 0 to 3 phase of the Montessori Method. This pedagogy provides a framework from which our programme takes its inspiration. Experience with Montessori is not essential although you must be willing to engage with a programme of professional development to further your learning.
Suitable applicants must demonstrate an understanding of best practice for this age group, be flexible team players and willing to support our Christian philosophy.
The position will commence in early September.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
