We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate kaiako to join our experienced team in beautiful Papamoa.

About us:

Our centre is operated by Central Kids Early Education, who manage 55 other kindergartens and early learning centres throughout the central North Island.

Central Kids provide access to high-quality professional development opportunities and ongoing professional support to maintain quality teaching practice.

At our centre, we cater for children 0–6 years old and operate an U2s and O2s area.

The 4 guiding principles of our philosophy include:

Aroha – Love and Compassion
Manaaki – Nurturing and Support
Whakakoha – Respectful and Giving
Whanaungatanga – Relatedness and Connection.

Children and their families benefit from ‘touchstone’ teaching staff who provide consistent caregiving for children, enhancing their learning environment and resulting in children who demonstrate a strong sense of belonging and well-being.

Teachers individualise centre routines to respond personally to each child on the basis of information shared with parents. Transitions into the older children’s area are well planned in partnership with whānau.

Tamariki are involved in planning excursions that follow their interests and enable them to explore the many natural gifts our local environment has to offer.

We are looking for a teacher with the following attributes:

  • A motivated, enthusiastic teacher, who is able to put current theory into practice
  • A passion for working within a mixed-age centre, with both U2 and O2 aged tamariki.
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
  • Able to have robust conversations and work with a team who have a strong committment to supporting the social and emotional growth of tamariki
  • Committed to creating/maintaining strong, positive relationships within the wider community
  • Able to demonstrate a growth mindset, be open and willing to change that enables us to continue providing high-quality early education to all tamariki who attend our services
  • ECE qualified and hold current certification and a current first aid certificate.
