Te Kura o Te Muriwai/Muriwai School, SH2, Turanganui-a-Kiwa, Gisborne.
Please state your curriculum and education strengths and interests. Fluency in te reo Māori is definitely an advantage and you must be willing to respectfully learn the history, tikanga and whakapapa of our Ngai Tāmanuhiri iwi. We have two classrooms. One is a level 3 te reo bilingual class and the other class a level 1 te reo full immersion class. Both classes are currently Y1–8 multilevel classrooms.
We live in paradise 20km south of Gisborne, just a short 15-minute drive away. We have a lovely school setting surrounded by coastal farmlands and landmarks that mean so much to us. We are nestled against the hills looking out toward the sea. We are across the road from our marae and our iwi base.
We need a kaiako who is innovative, creative and passionate about growing our leaders of tomorrow. You will have a kete of talent, knowledge and life experience to help support our tamariki to be successful through all the stages of their learning.
We have fantastic students willing to learn; small class sizes; great grounds and developing facilities. We have a new board of trustees, and a community who are willing to work together on our progressive change journey.
I roto i te aroha, te manaaki me te ngakau mahaki, naumai haramai.
