Our centre is nestled in the heart of the semirural village of Ashhurst. We are a small and welcoming early childhood centre of the highest quality with amazing large outdoor spaces. Our team of passionate, supportive and dedicated kaiako work closely with our children to unlock their potential, planting the seeds for a lifelong love of learning setting them up for a bright future, and we want you to join us.

We're looking for an exceptional and committed leader to join our dedicated, fun koru (infant) room team!

As the head teacher you will be responsible for:

  • Building and role modelling strong relationships with your team, children and centre whānau
  • Actively role modelling positive interactions with all children
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the centre manager to ensure the smooth operation of the centre
  • Lead and inspire your teaching team through critical reflection to improve outcomes for learners.

What we are seeking is a head teacher who:

  • Holds a valid New Zealand recognised ECE teacher qualification with current registration
  • Is a natural leader committed to education ready to inspire others
  • Can demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional practice
  • Has a passionate, caring, flexible and fun personality with practices that align with the RIE philosophies
  • Has excellent communication skills.
