Kaiako vacancy

A permanent, full-time kaiako position has become available at Te Kōhanga Reo I Ngā Hau e Whā in Waihopai, Murihiku.

If you have tohu whakapakari or in progress through your kete mahi; you love working with mokopuna to grow their te reo Māori and are passionate about te kaupapa o Te Kōhanga Reo, then we would love to hear from you!

We are an intimately sized kōhanga of up to 20 mokopuna committed to tuakana/teina learning experiences and overall Whānau Kotahitanga.

All applicants must have:

  • Competency in te reo Māori
  • Tohu whakapakari or in progress through your Kete mahi
  • Experience in Te Kōhanga reo
  • Knowledge of Te Korowai and Te Whāriki
  • Ability to put our mokopuna first
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Innovative Te Whāriki delivery skills.

The work hours are 8.30am to 4pm Rāhina – Rāmere.

The successful applicant will be required to start as soon as possible, subject to a successful police vet.
