An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the education team at the National Army Museum Te Mata Toa as a dynamic 'Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom' (LEOTC) teacher.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Development and delivery of curriculum-focused education programmes that meet the needs of schools in our catchment area
  • Supporting the development and delivery of all formal and informal educational and public programmes at NAM
  • Coordinate and facilitate school visits and activities
  • Actively promote NAM as a provider of dynamic and relevant education experiences.

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and current education practice, the ability to deliver engaging and relevant educational experiences and a focus on putting the customer at the heart of everything they do.

NAM receives funding from the Ministry of Education to deliver LEOTC programmes to primary and secondary schools in NZ in the curriculum areas of social sciences and science and technology. The role is fixed-term until 31 December 2020 based on the current funding.
