About the role

The manager learning support will coordinate access to child-focused services to ensure all children achieve educational success. They will work with a diverse range of groups including parents, educators, Communities of Learning – Kāhui Ako, health professionals and other agencies to ensure that the right support is delivered at the right time to better support children and young people in need to achieve their educational goals. We are seeking an innovator committed to our inclusive approach to education and to achieving the best outcomes for our children every day.

The successful applicant will be a people leader and will have a proven track record in managing complex relationships through change. They will have extensive experience in managing service delivery from working in either the public, private, social or education sectors.

The position is a full-time, permanent role that will report directly to the Director of Education in Hawke’s Bay/Tairawhiti and will be a central part of the regional leadership team. They will be based in our Napier office, however travel throughout the region will be required.

About the person

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in leadership and leading change
  • Experience in working in a large government organisation or the education sector in a leadership role
  • Skills in leading and motivating others, and able to challenge, facilitate, supervise and coach others to increase capacity for excellence and, where necessary, change
  • Developed networks, credibility and relationships with individuals and organisations in the education sector is preferred.
