van Asch Deaf Education Centre is a centre of excellence providing educational support for deaf and hard of hearing students across the South Island and lower half of the North Island. We provide professional development and career pathways for specialist teachers within the deaf education sector.

We currently have a fixed-term position available in Hawke's Bay. Preference will be given to qualified teachers of the deaf able to work with a range of deaf and hard-of-hearing students across all communication modes and varying learning contexts.

However, applications will be considered from teachers with strong communication skills and preschool or school curriculum knowledge, prepared to undertake professional development. Recent teaching experience and proficiency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) or a willingness to learn NZSL is essential. We are looking for a team player who can influence and embrace ongoing learning.
