We are looking for an inspiring, nurturing, respectful, positive teacher who is an advocate for children.

Wondernauts (formally Melody Childcare Centre) is a spacious and well-resourced not-for-profit centre located in the lush Ruakura grounds. Established 30+ years ago we have a huge outdoor environment with real grass, an orchard, vegetable gardens, mud pits, a campfire, animals and an impressive, purpose-built bike track. Three cozy classrooms collectively support 50 children. We are mindful of group size and ratios that best serve tamariki.

Our beautiful centre boasts a progressive, all-weather curriculum focused on reconnecting children with nature and their local community. We pride ourselves on providing tamariki with experiences outside the classroom and run several weekly 'bush kindergartens', as well as an intergenerational programme with our local retirement village.

We are looking for an energetic, motivated teacher who loves supporting our youngest tamariki. You will need to be postive, well-organised, have an appreciation for Papatuanuku, and be confident with technology. You will have theoretical, pedagogical knowledge to drive learning stories, reviews, and programme planning. We are hoping for a motivated educator who embraces change, follows best practice and is eager to implement respectful, child-focused approaches for the very little people who we serve.

Ideally you will be ECE qualified and certificated. You must have NZ residence or a valid work visa. Ideally you have a full drivers licence and willing to drive our centre van for excursions.

In return for your passion, skills, dedication and loyalty you will be rewarded with supportive management, professional development opportunities, creative freedom, a fun work place and a great remuneration package well above industry standards. If this is a learning environment that you would like to be a part of, we would love to hear from you.

How to apply

Please email your current CV, including your personal philosophy and a covering letter introducing yourself, why you want to join the Wondernauts Crew and why you think you are the best person for the role.
