We are seeking a positive and enthusiastic teacher with previous successful mainstream teaching experience, strong communication skills and willingness to train to become a teacher of the deaf including developing proficiency in NZSL. For this position you will be itinerating to mainstream schools within the central Auckland area as part of a team of RTDs based at the centre in Kelston, Auckland. Starting date of employment to be negotiated. 

Requirements for this position:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in current inclusive practices for diverse DHH learners or learners with specific learning needs an advantage
  • Previous demonstration of skills in literacy and language development
  • Current driver's licence and full NZ teacher registration essential
  • Lease vehicle or use of own car to be determined by expected weekly mileage thresholds.

Interviews will be held week commencing 1 July.
