The junior campus (Y5–8) based in Remuera is seeking to fill a part-time position as a learning support teacher.
This role will suit an experienced practitioner who is confident working alongside young people with a wide range of learning needs. Based at the junior campus, you will also liaise with learning support colleagues at the senior and rural campuses.
You will be comfortable using technology to supplement your teaching and be willing to work with small groups and one on one, both in your own classroom and alongside subject teachers. You understand current learning support practices and can partner academic and pastoral staff to provide information, statistics, support and insight on the boys with whom you work.
A high level of empathy with a desire to assist young people with learning challenges and to treat each boy individually, helping them to achieve a sense of success and accomplishment, are essential qualities for this role.
Experience teaching ESOL students is also an advantage. A commitment to the corporate life and special character of the school will be conditions of employment. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated.
