Our association has been providing early childhood education in South Canterbury for over 75 years and is the largest ECE provider in the region. Our 12 kindergartens are spread throughout the district from Timaru to Twizel. With an experienced senior teacher team, SCK also provides professional support to the Waimate Kindergarten Association and to a local bilingual ECE centre.

Our association prides itself on a harmonious, unified, professional culture where all employees are valued. There is a developing focus on sustainable practices, wellbeing and creating effective systems. All 12 kindergartens are members of Enviroschools.

SCK is an active member of 2 local Kahui Ako and we see this involvement as an important step in working alongside the wider education sector with a particular focus on transition.

Our association offers strong support to all staff and has a comprehensive professional learning and development programme that we believe is indicative of our progressive approach.

We are very focused on employing passionate, energetic and committed professionals to join our team.

The kindergarten environment has been well-planned and developed over many years, it enjoys excellent support from the parent community and has a significant waiting list. We are an all-day kindergarten operating from 7.45am–5.15pm for 49 weeks per year with 44 child places (10 children in the U2s group and up to 34 children in the O2s group).

The kindergarten team is passionate about maintaining a warm, respectful, nurturing environment for tamariki.

We welcome enquiries and can arrange visits to the kindergarten.

Applicants must
