Are you ready for success? Lauriston School is a fantastic country school with a reputation for being an enriching environment; a lovely place to teach and learn. Our supportive community ensures that our school is well resourced, we are a real point of difference and a place that people never want to leave!
We are looking for a kind, caring, enthusiastic new entrant Y0–1 classroom teacher, to join our awesome team in the LTR position for one year.
This role is not open to beginning teachers and is an opportunity to join our school during an exciting time of continued collaboration, innovation and inquiry – building on a strong foundation sustained by our school vision, values and principles.
A sound knowledge and understanding of the NZC is an advantage – particularly in supporting our youngest tamariki with their transition from the ECE learning environment into a primary school setting. Knowledge of both Te Whāriki and the NZ Curriculum, and the ability to integrate play-based learning, storytelling and oral language throughout a variety of contexts within reading, writing and maths while providing a rich learning experience for our students, both inside and outside the classroom, would be an advantage.
Applicants are welcome to visit the school and meet the principal and existing new entrant teacher to discuss the position further. While the position is advertised to commence mid-way through term 3, the possibility of an earlier appointment may be open to negotiation – giving opportunity for a smooth transition into the role alongside the current teacher before taking her leave.
