Due to our current head of department taking up a new position overseas, we are seeking an experienced and passionate English teacher who is ready to take the next step in his/her career, to lead a very well-established and successful department, from the beginning of term 3.

We are a small rural Y7–13 school set in scenic West Otago between the university city of Dunedin and the adventure capital of New Zealand, Queenstown. We are a very high-performing school which offers a responsive local curriculum and a personalised pathways approach to learning, which sees us achieve consistently high NCEA pass rates, typically 20% above the national averages. We also pride ourselves on excellent levels of participation in sporting, cultural, leadership and community activities and place special emphasis on the Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Awards programme. We are a PB4L school with high expectations for our students to be respectful, responsible and inclusive in the way they carry themselves on a daily basis, which makes for a positive and rewarding teaching and learning environment. Tapanui is a wonderful family-friendly and vibrant community with the great outdoors literally on the doorstep.

Accommodation available.
