We are a culturally diverse decile 9 school of 360 students.
We are looking for a personable, self-motivated, experienced classroom teacher to join a dedicated and highly collaborative team in our special education unit. Our highly-regarded special education unit caters for students aged 5–12 years with high needs in a dedicated environment with experienced staff who work in partnership with parents and caregivers to ensure students reach their full potential.
We welcome applications from experienced teachers who demonstrate an inclusive and flexible approach to teaching and learning. Experience in special education is preferred but support through ongoing mentoring and coaching will be provided.
Applicants should be knowledgeable of positive behaviour strategies and open to new learning. The ability to lead a small team is essential, as is the ability to adapt programmes to meet the individual learning needs of students.

We are looking for a teacher with the following attributes:
Successful experience in working with special needs children
Expertise in emergent literacy and numeracy teaching – preferably with students with complex needs
Ability to think creatively in developing specialised learning programmes
Proven ability to lead a team and to work collaboratively in a fun, challenging environment
Knowledgeable in positive behaviour strategies and experience in implementing behaviour interventions
Proven capability to work collaboratively with external agencies in supporting student progress and achievement
Highly-skilled communicator who is able to develop positive relationships with students, staff and whānau from diverse backgrounds.
