We have a vacancy for a part-time special needs teacher or a conductor-teacher in our special needs unit, Te Pukenga, which is based upon the principles of Conductive Education, teaching students who have a variety of physical, cognitive and emotional needs. All of our students have very high and complex needs and are ORS funded.
Experience in working with anxiety, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and behaviour support would be an advantage. This role is a co-teaching position with other professional staff and includes oversight of teacher aides. Professional development opportunities will be available to the successful applicant. This is a rewarding and challenging position joining a dedicated and experienced team of colleagues.
The position is part-time (0.4 FTTE 2 days per week) and there is the opportunity to also do day relief within the unit where required. This position is fixed-term for the 2019 school year and will begin 29 April.
