NKA is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic teacher to be part of an established and inspired team at this kindergarten, in Northland. It has a teaching team of 5 teachers and a part-time administrator. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday. This position will commence  4 June.

The teaching team view children as powerful, capable, competent, rich contributors to society and provide a curriculum that enables children to feel empowered to take risks, to grow their independence and resilience at an unhurried pace, to experience opportunities to succeed and fail (and to learn from it), to engage in problem solving, to set their own goals, to grow their emotional and social competence, to move their bodies, to experience their own culture and other cultures, to connect with nature, to feel a sense of belonging and community, to feel confident about themselves and to have fun! 

NKA is seeking applications from qualified teachers who have the following attributes:

  • Able to establish and maintain authentic and professional relationships with children, whānau and colleagues
  • Self-motivated, show initiative and will work collaboratively within our team
  • Good communicator with all members of the kindergarten community
  • Able to write meaningful documentation
  • Have a sense of fun and adventure as well as being passionate and enthusiastic.

This kindergarten is part of the NKA which offers fantastic professional development opportunities, is part of a network of 22 kindergartens and is supported by our professional practice team.

Applicants must hold a minimum Dip Tch (ECE) or higher qualification, current practising certificate and first aid certificate.
