'Ka piki te wawata o ngā rangatahi, kei raro i te maro o Te Korowai Mātauranga.'

We are seeking a kaiako in Te Korowai Matāuranga, our Level 2 Immersion Learning Centre. Te Korowai Matauranga is a Y7–8 bilingual setting.

The successful applicant will have a sound understanding of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga and experiential knowledge of Māori medium pedagogy in particular Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Aromatawai.

This kaiako will need the ability to lead others, to work within a team and be competent to communicate and engage with whānau and our wider school community.

Local iwi connection to Waitaha and Tapuika would be an advantage, and the willingness to nurture and grow the immersion pathway and to support transitions is highly valued.

The position attracts a MITA unit and possibly a ‘within school role’ in our Kāhui Ako.
