Hunter Park Kindergarten is part of the HKA. Our association is committed to:

About us

  • We are a rural kindergarten in Central Hawke's Bay with a licence of 30 children
  • Our philosophy is one of respect and authenticity that focuses on relationships with all ākonga, whānau, community and their cultures, in a nurturing, sustainable and peaceful environment
  • The team are innovative, forward-thinking and relationship-based kaiako who are focused on positive individual outcomes for all ākonga
  • Our curriculum is developed in consultation with whānau and reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the kindergartens' local history. Our kindergarten is built on a historically significant site within Te Puna o Pukekaihou.  

To be considered you need to:

  • Have a philosophy that fits with our team and kindergarten
  • Have a current practising certificate (full or provisional)
  • Have a Dip Tch (ECE) minimum
  • Have a current first aid certificate
  • Be current with regard to early childhood education theory and practice
  • Be confident in using technology and be able to competently use Microsoft Suite and Storypark
  • Have a proven working knowledge of government legislation and regulations.
