We are an independent boys' boarding-only school with an Anglican tradition, teaching Y5–13, operating on 3 campuses and catering for boys from families experiencing financial or personal hardship. All enrolled boys attend on a full tuition and boarding scholarship. We pride ourselves on achieving very strong academic, cultural, and sporting results, and assisting our boys to develop their full potential in becoming good and useful citizens. Following retirement, the junior campus in Remuera, Auckland is seeking to fill a position as assistant head of junior campus. This role is responsible for supporting the senior team in the management of the campus, with a focus on curriculum development and support, and IT. Reporting to the head of the junior campus, the successful incumbent will be part of a small but hardworking and capable team. The role will have a teaching load of approximately 0.6. Candidates will have at least 5 years' experience in education, preferably with some knowledge of boarding schools. They must be organised with an eye for detail and be familiar with current technologies in schools. Successful candidates must be able to positively influence others and above all understand the balance between authority and fairness in the direction, pastoral care and positive management of boys. A commitment to the corporate life and special character of the school will be conditions of employment.
Competitive remuneration will be negotiated.
The role will commence in term 2, late April.
