Glenavon is a tight-knit, unique community in Auckland and our school is at the heart of it. Over the past 5 years our incredible principal has led us through extraordinary change.
We believe our school is in an incredible state. Our wonderfully motivated principal is leaving us on promotion and we are searching for an inspiring, ambitious successor to honour the change that has been made and uphold our vision 'Achieving The Extraordinary'.
We are a high-performing full primary school with a 4–5 year ERO report, we have strongly embedded values and were finalists in the 2018 Education Excellence Awards.
Our school's ideal principal will:
Be an inspiring strategic thinker who can also ‘walk the talk'
Value and build on our bicultural and multicultural school ethos
Maintain our strong home/school partnerships
Promote 21st century learning in real world contexts and know how to lift children’s achievement
Be energetic, visible and approachable with a great sense of humour
Be an inclusive, collaborative leader who knows when to steer the ship and when to allow others to take the wheel
Have high expectations of self, staff, students and our community.
Our new principal will have the privilege of working in an environment with motivated, committed staff members, enthusiastic students, involved whānau and a very supportive board of trustees.
Interviews will be held on Saturday, 4 May. The position commences at the beginning of term 3.
The application pack will be on the KEA website www.keaeducation.nz by 22 February but do check from 19 February onwards. The essential application form can only be obtained by emailing Alan Jermaine.
