We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring teacher to lead the social sciences faculty in our dynamic semirural Y7–13 college, located in Temuka. If you are a motivated teacher, with innovative ideas and the ability to build strong teaching/learning relationships with students, then we would be very interested in receiving your application. You would be directly responsible for one other faculty member.
Our new HOF will be a potential leader, team player and communicator, who possesses confidence and capabilities in the use of technology, and is a practitioner with excellent curriculum knowledge who can inspire our staff and students. Ability to teach history at Level 3 is a requirement of this position.
A commitment to inclusive practice and differentiated planning is essential. You will be joining a team of strong practitioners in PB4L, restorative practice and culturally responsive pedagogy.
We are a member of the Timaru North Kāhui Ako and our challenges are based around transitions, priority learners and wellbeing.
We are a small collegial secondary school, situated in South Canterbury – this means small classes and weekend access to the beautiful lakes and mountains of the Mackenzie country. Being just 20 minutes north of Timaru leaves you the choice of rural or urban living.
Applicants must be New Zealand certificated and hold (or have proof of application for) Education Council registration.
Preferably to commence term 2, however there may be some flexibility available in order for us to appoint the ‘right’ candidate.
