Our centre is a licensed 50 place early learning centre based in Te Kuiti and operated by the Maniapoto Māori Trust Board.
Reporting to the centre manager, the ECE kaiako position will be responsible for meeting the expectations and delivery of Te Whāriki and positively contributing to our team, whānau and tamariki at all times. You will be responsible for planning, assessing and evaluating activities and reporting requirements ensuring they meet audit, regulatory and contractual requirements.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Have previous experience within an early childhood learning centre
- Have a NZ recognised early childhood qualification (minimum ECE qualification diploma or teaching ECE)
- Have full or provisional teacher registration.
Key attributes sought include a high level of understanding of the early childhood curriculum – Maniapoto based curriculum current theories and practices and knowledge of health and safety legislation and other legislation impacting childcare service delivery.
Local knowledge of the Maniapoto rohe, whānau, marae and hapu is essential, as is experience in working with whānau. A current full New Zealand driver's licence is required, as is a current first aid certificate and police clearance.
