We are looking for experienced secondary school educators to work as mentors in our employment-based initial teacher education qualification, the Masters of Teaching and Education Leadership (MTEL). The purpose of this programme is to provide future teachers and leaders from discipline areas identified by current market needs, with a registrable initial teacher education qualification. Run in partnership with Teach First NZ: Ako Mātātupu, we aim to develop high calibre teachers in low decile high schools throughout New Zealand. 

This role is an opportunity for registered educators with a strong understanding of effective pedagogy who are passionate about teacher mentoring, to work in collaboration with local schools in developing emerging teachers across a range of subject areas. 

Desired experience includes but is not limited to:

Expertise in culturally responsive and innovative pedagogy, experience in Initial Teacher Education, Professional Learning and Development in schools, or teacher mentoring.

Full-time and part-time roles available in Auckland, Invercargill, North Cape, Greymouth, Lower Northland, Upper Northland, Napier-Hastings, Waikato.
