We are a Y7–13 coeducational Catholic integrated college with attached boarding facilities. Our college is set in the heart of rural Southland and is very well-regarded in terms of academic results, along with sporting and cultural activities and success. We have a very supportive wider school community and we appreciate and value this support. The roll is about 380 students to begin 2019, and our staff are very future-focused with our collective aim being strong student-centred and responsive pedagogy throughout the college. Our college has a strong, restorative based, pastoral system which is valued by parents, staff and students.
Gore is a main centre for a large geographical farming area and therefore provides many opportunities in sporting and cultural pursuits as well as being a very safe, family-friendly town. The beautiful Fiordland and Central Otago areas are an easy driving distance away.
We are looking for a passionate educator to teach in the technology learning area. The ideal applicant will have strengths in all, or some, of the following curriculum areas – digital technology, design visual communication technology, and hard materials. The technology learning area is looking forward to growth in the near future and, along with a move towards integrated curriculum across the school, this position would provide an exciting opportunity for either an experienced teacher or a beginning teacher to work in a very supportive learning area that is well-respected within the college. There may be management units available for responsibility within the department, depending on areas of expertise and experience.
A willingness to support and uphold the special character of the college will be a condition of appointment.
