We are a beautiful 40-licence centre surrounded by native bush and beaches on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula.

We are looking for a special teacher to join us on a fixed-term contract (maternity cover). We will also consider this as a part-time role for the right candidate!

With two separate buildings for our U2s and O2s we are a close-knit unit with strong ties to our community. These strong ties allow us to have regular local excursions within our community to the library, beach, vet centre and park.

We are a well-established, passionate, dedicated, close-knit and family-oriented team who all live in the local community. We have strong links with our local primary schools that support our Be School Ready initiative.

Lunch breaks (and sometimes one-on-one meetings) are at the beach! We have a commitment to career progression and a team that values the importance of meaningful internal evaluations, and seeing changes in practice. We have regular professional development opportunities offered by our centre manager, professional services manager and the wider BestStart organisation.

With a strong focus on staff wellbeing (and a netball team no less!) we are a strong and happy unit that works well together to deliver incredible education opportunities to our children. Relationships with families are strong and an important part of centre life. We also have a range of animals, a rabbit, frog, mice and fish!

As part of the BestStart family you will be entitled to healthcare and childcare benefits, along with additional sick days and endless professional development opportunities.

If you are looking for a special centre where you will part of an incredible community, apply today!

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
